The European Parliament Invests in the Future – the Path to an International Career Starts with CONFINTERP!

The world of translation is evolving, and so are the demands on professionals in the field. The project “Postgraduate Course of Conference Interpreting – Lviv Polytechnic National University” CONFINTERP is a unique initiative funded by the European Parliament, offering new opportunities for students aspiring to build a career in international institutions.

This program is designed in accordance with the requirements of the Directorate for Translation and Logistics of the European Parliament and aims to train specialists capable of working at the highest level of conference interpreting. With an innovative approach that integrates digital technologies and practical training, as well as authentic materials from the European Parliament, this course stands out as a unique opportunity for preparing a new generation of interpreters.

What Does the Project Include?

 ✔ Repository of authentic European Parliament materials – an opportunity to work with real documents and scenarios used in European institutions.

This course enables students not only to grasp the theoretical foundations and methodologies of interpreting but also to gain real-world experience working with international texts, improve their speed and accuracy, and adapt to the demands of a modern professional environment.

Education That Opens Doors to the International Arena!
The project is about creating an innovative learning ecosystem that prepares students for professional interpreting using cutting-edge technologies. One of the initiative’s ambitious goals is to develop an AI-based computer program, which will help students automatically analyze their mistakes, refine their skills, and prepare for real-world interpreting challenges.

Digitization of Interpreting Training 
The development of a terminology glossary and a bilingual parallel corpus of EU documentation and legislation are planned as a part of the project’s deliverables. This will provide students with a powerful learning tool and contribute to Ukraine’s integration into the European legal and linguistic space. Linguistic diversity and multiculturalism are core values of the European Union, and this course will help students not only acquire professional skills but also engage in a global dialogue between nations.

Educational Integration and International Expertise
This program is an integral part of the Master’s Degree Program in Applied Linguistics (B11) at the Department of Applied Linguistics at Lviv Polytechnic National University. The learning process is led by experienced professionals who combine academic knowledge with real-world industry challenges. The project also involves the international and national experts, providing students with access to the best global practices in conference interpreting.
